About Sam Parker

Sam Parker

I co-founded in early 1998 after selling for more than 10 years in several different industries (financial services, pharmaceuticals, joint replacements, office products, and software).

In the beginning, we built an online community and resource for sales executives, managers, and professionals. It was (and is) called Over time, we developed and added other content rich websites to our portfolio in order to help several different leadership audiences. Our revenue was primarily driven by corporate sponsorships.

Several years ago (as a side project), I wrote what became an important book to a lot of different types of people and organizations – 212° the extra degree (more than 1 million copies sold). It helps people better understand and embrace how a little extra effort and attention can have a big impact on our results and relationships. That was the first step to where we are today ... a committed team of people in Richmond, Virginia focused on developing products and ideas that inspire extra effort, more care, and more personal responsibility.

My other bestsellers include Lead Simply (an in-the-trenches framework for creating and developing that special team of people that does great work), Smile & Move (a reminder to happily serve), Cross The Line (a commitment to go beyond mediocrity in whatever we do), and Love Your People (a call to care more for the people we lead and serve). All of them are available here at

I live in Richmond, Virginia with my wife Jennifer (she's an artist). We have three kids (two boys - one in high school, one in college, and a daughter 212ing in the real world ... if she calls you, please be nice to her... we all sell something). I have a degree in business from James Madison University and have obsessed over organizational behavior for the last 25 years.

Feedback from some of my speaking clients is above and below.

If you'd like to have me in for a keynote, I'd love the opportunity. Please call us in Richmond, VA at 804-762-4500 or email

“The soft minded person always wants to freeze the moment and hold life in the gripping yoke of sameness.” – Martin Luther King, Jr.

I love that thought. It reminds me to think and reach for more. That's what I'd like to do for you and your team.

“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Another favorite.

First, on behalf of the entire NTT America team, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation to Sam for his outstanding performance this morning. I had an opportunity to speak to Sam briefly both before and after he spoke, and I found him to be friendly and personable. The messages and stories that Sam conveyed during his presentation really hit home with the audience. Sam's presentation was a perfect way to end our annual conference!

– Alexander Russo, NTT America

Sam, thanks for your presentation. All my managers loved you! Everyone wants to 212. I played your 212 video at the end of our conference. It was great reinforcement. Thanks for your inspiration!

– Claudia Winkle, Regional Vice President, TJ Maxx

As I practice my 212 thanks, I couldn't let today end without reaching out to say how grateful and honored we were to have you. Everyone loved the concept and your presentation ... they felt you understood their world and made doing good things achievable. It was my privilege to be introduced to your book and philosophy and today, to you. Many thanks for your participation and engagement; it helped launch our year on the best foot.

– Christine Maggiore-Escribano, Senior Vice President, NBC Telemundo

Sam, it was a pleasure having you at our meeting ... just so you know of your impact on the group, throughout the rest of the week we heard many statements of “I'm 212'ing this” or “Let's 212 it”! Your talk was timely and it fit the progression of the first day better that we had hoped.

– Adam Larkin, Director of Sales Operations, Specialty Markets & Training, Zimmer Biomet

Sam, thank you so much for your wonderful presentation. It exceeded all of my expectations. Participants raved about you, your style, and the content. Thank you for being an ambassador of positivity and goodness.

– Dr. Mark Warner, Senior Vice President of Student Affairs and University Planning at James Madison University

Sam, I just wanted to pass along a big thank you for speaking to our group. The feedback has been fantastic. We had asked for 212 resolutions at the end of the morning session and you could see your impact in what they submitted. I believe you have inspired a new group of people to become 212 evangelists. It was a truly motivating session.

– Jamie Breneman, Director of Marketing, NEW Customer Service Companies Inc.

You knocked it out of the park with your keynote. Your messages really resonated with our leadership ... engaging, compelling, and a bracing wake up call. Time for us to be the change we want to see ... 212!

– Alexandra Novis, Inmotar Strategies/ AmerisourceBergen

Thank you once again for the fantastic presentation! I think we have many 212ers in the hotel now! I've received many emails and calls praising your presentation and the message. Our colleagues really enjoyed it, thank you! I already made many 212 references in my presentation that same afternoon.

– Julie Trieu, Director of Quality and Learning, The Langham Huntington, Pasadena

Hey Sam ... I should be thanking you as much as you thanking us. So happy we found each other. The 212 theme was perfect and in a world that's not much of perfections, I believe as far as 212 and the message and the way you presented it was as close to perfect as we could have ever asked ... so for that, we thank you. I hope our paths cross in the future.

– John Witt, Executive Vice President, Lansing Building Products

Thank you so very much for delivering the keynote address at the Altico Advisors Spring Summit. It was perfection. I spoke with many of our guests afterwards and each one took something away from your presentation that made it personal to them.

– Marcia Nita Doron, Sikich (formerly Altico Advisors)

Sam, thanks again for a wonderful address to my team in Florida last week. People can't stop talking about the 3 days and your talk. I've got more 212 pictures than you'd imagine. It's crazy, the influence of these 3 numbers! Keep producing great stuff for leadership!

– John Welsh, VP/GM - Americas Sales and Service PerkinElmer Inc.

Just a quick note post-webinar, to say an enormous thank you. Everything went flawlessly, and looking around the room there were so many bright, engaged faces, and lots taking notes - and this is not a “notey” crowd!

– Krista McCann, CanaDream RV
