Every day is an opportunity to practice and perfect our ability to calmly accept and work with the frequent turns in our day.

Turns are part of the work. They're never going away.

How to make it real...

1. Start the day by reminding ourselves that turns (changes) in our day are inevitable (and sometimes fun).

2. Think less of ourselves and more about the work (and the people we do it for) during the workday.

3. Cuddle up to the fact that we're not entitled to everything being wonderful all day.

4. Know that handling turns well is a characteristic that tends to lead to better career growth and opportunities.

“Anyone who proposes to do good must not

expect people to roll stones out of his way,

but must accept his lot calmly,

even if they roll a few more upon it.”

Albert Schweitzer (1875-1965) | German medical missionary
