simplicity

"The truth is simple, turn out to be. Not as complicated as I wanted it to be. But maybe simple truth is real truth."

Alexander Melamid | 1945 - | Russian-born artist

When I heard Melamid share that thought, I remember thinking, "That's the problem with so many things. Too often, we chase complexity instead of enjoying simplicity."

It made me think about workplaces and how we have all kinds of people problems all day long in so many places. Leaders share these challenges with me often.

My advice is nuanced depending on what I learn but it's always rooted in...

Model the behavior you want to see.
Connect with the people you lead.
Involve them as much as possible.

That's it. Wonderfully simple.
